UX & UI, App
WeWatch is an app to simplify group movie selection with personalized recommendations and an intuitive interface. By focusing on user preferences and seamless design, it enhances collaboration and engagement.

1. User Research

A Maze survey with 50 participants revealed key challenges: decision fatigue, disagreements, and the lack of a shared preference system. These insights drove the development of WeWatch’s group filtering, smart recommendations, and collaborative selection, making group movie choices effortless and enjoyable.

2. Competitor Analysis

Most streaming platforms, including Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu, focus on personalized recommendations but lack features for group decision-making. Tools like Teleparty, Scener, and WatchParty do enable remote watch parties but do not help with choosing a movie together in real-life settings.
WeWatch addresses this gap by allowing users to input their individual preferences and generating intelligent, balanced recommendations that accommodate everyone’s choices, streamlining group decision-making.

3. User Personas

To ensure a seamless and intuitive experience, I developed detailed user personas for WeWatch. These personas reflect the needs and behaviors of users struggling with group movie selection. By understanding their pain points, preferences, and decision-making habits, I was able to design an app that directly addresses their challenges and expectations.

4. User Journey

I mapped out a key user journey to guide the app’s design. The experience begins with users selecting their preferred languages, movie duration, and genres. WeWatch then analyzes the group’s inputs and generates a shortlist of movie suggestions that best match everyone’s preferences. This removes friction from the decision-making process and helps groups quickly agree on a movie that suits everyone.
